The Montevideo Girls Basketball Team will be on the road Thursday at Minnewaska at 6:00.
The Montevideo Girls Basketball Team is coming off a 46 to 42 loss to LQPV in 2 overtimes. Ashley Hoehne led the Thunder
Hawks with 21 points, Tia Diggins had a double double, 10 points and 14 rebounds.
The Montevideo Boys Swim Team will be on the road Thursday for the Conference Meet at the U of M Morris at 5:00.
The Monte Boys Swim Team is coming off a 102 to 81 win over Dassel Cokato Litchfield. Montevideo had 1st place finishes from
Tommy Payne in the 50 and 100 freestyles, Kane Glomstad in the 200 and 500 free, Jack Spaeth in the 200 IM and the backstroke,
Chase Testa in diving, Daylen Mytling in the butterfly, Monte's 200 medley relay was 1st with Spaeth, Glomstad, Payne and Testa,
the the 200 free relay was 1st with Peters, Spaeth, Peters and Payne.
The Montevideo Wrestling Team will be on the road Thursday at KMS at 6:00.

The Monte Wrestling Team is coming off a 64 to 6 loss to State Ranked ACGC. Montevideo had a pin from Mason Kwilinski.
The Montevideo Wrestling Team competed at the WCC Meet. Dan Macziewski and Mitch Kwilinski each finished 6th.
Cody Hiepler and Tanner Lindemann finished 5th. Spencer Sulflow and Mason Kwilinski finished 4th. Montevideo finished 10th
as a team.
The Montevideo Boys Basketball Team will be on the road Friday at LQPV at 6:00.
The Monte Boys Basketball Team picked up a non-conference win over Willmar Saturday by a score of 69 to 64. Montevideo made
their free throws at the end of the game for the win, making 17 more free throws in the game than Willmar. Phillip Ward led the
Thunder Hawks with 20 points, making 5 shots from 3 point range. Brett Bergeson had 19 points, Jake Douglas had a double
double, 17 points and 10 rebounds, Brett Erickson had 7 points. Montevideo goes to 7 and 0 in the conference, 15 and 4 overall.
The Montevideo Gold Dusters Dance Team ended their season competing at the Section 3AA Competition. The Gold Dusters
High Kick Team finished 7th.
The Montevideo Gold Dusters competed at the WCC Competition, and finished 3rd as a team in High Kick, and 4th in
Jazz. All-Conference honors in High Kick were given to Olivia Bisel, Kayla Collins, Whitney Bartz, Shawna Berg, and Nettie Duvall.
All-Conference in Jazz went to Macy Peters, Hannah Hein, Anna Melby, and Shawna Berg.

The Montevideo Football Team held their end of the season awards banquet, and winning awards were Jake Douglas and Brett
Bergeson as Minnesota Academic all-state. All conference honors went to Jake Douglas, Colton Vien, Joe Bednar, Tanner
Lindemann, and Brett Bergeson, all conference honorable mention went to Kyle TeBeest and Phillip Ward. WCC performers
of the week during the season went to Jake Douglas, Brett Bergeson, and Joe Bednar, The WCC North outstanding back went to
Jake Douglas, the WCC North outstanding receiver went to Joe Bednar, The WCC North MVP went to Brett Bergeson. Now the
team awards: The 100 point defensive award winners were, Brett Bergeson, Tanner Lindemann, Derek Rodeberg, Charles
O'Malley, and Jake Douglas, Most Improved was awarded to Kyle TeBeest, the outstanding lineman was given to Tanner
Lindemann, the outstanding receiver/back was given to Joe Bednar and Jake Douglas, the hawk pride award went to Phillip Ward,
and the Montevideo Football MVP for the year went to Brett Bergeson.
The Montevideo Football Team ended their season with a loss in the second round of the Section 3AAA Tournament to Fairmont
by a score of 33 to 7. Montevideo had bad field position all game, with the Thunder Hawks average starting position for their drives
at their own 18 yard line, Fairmont had great field possession, on the average starting their drives on the Montevideo 42 yard line.
Brett Bergeson was 12 of 27 passing for 166 yards. Joe Bednar had 7 catches for 117 yards. Jake Douglas ran the ball 17 times
for 67 yards and 1 touchdown. Montevideo trailed 13 to 7 at the half, but just couldn't get their offence going in the second half.
Montevideo ends the season at 9 and 1. For the season Brett Bergeson threw 26 touchdown passes. Colton Vien caught 11
touchdown passes, Kyle TeBeest caught 7 touchdown passes, and Jake Douglas ran for 17 touchdowns and caught 1
touchdown pass. The Thunder Hawks were also West Central Conference North Champions.
The Montevideo Girls Swim Team ended their season competing in the finals of the Section 3A Meet. Montevideo finished 10th as
a team. Molly Grussing just missed a trip to State finishing 3rd in the 50 free and 8th in the 100 free. Kelsey Quigley was 5th in the
butterfly, Hannah Hein was 12th in the breaststroke, Baylee Pauling was 15th in the 50 free, Monte's 400 free relay was 9th with
Pauling, Winters, Quigley and Grussing, and Monte's 200 free relay was 10th with Longworth, Winters, Hein, and Pauling.
The Montevideo Cross Country Team held their end of the season awards banquet and winning West Central Conference
Performers of the Week during the season were MaKena Hofer, Anna Carruth, Jamilah Carson, Joe Varpness, and Chase Testa.
Cody Hiepler won the Coaches Award, Spirit of the Sport was awarded to Jamilah Carson and Darrin Stevens, Most Improved was
Molly Varpness and Ryan Maroney, Most Dedicated was awarded to Anna Carruth and Mitchell Moe, and the Montevideo Cross
Country MVP was given to Joe Varpness and MaKena Hofer.
The Montevideo Cross Country Team ended their season at the Section 3A Meet at Adrian. The Monte Boys were 4th as a team,
and the Monte Girls finished 8th. Zac Enevoldsen led the Monte Boys in 15th place, Joe Varpness was 18th. Jamilah Carson led
the Monte Girls in 18th, MaKena Hofer was 20th. Both the Monte Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams earned Academic Gold
Medal Status, the Girls had a 3.93 GPA, the Boys had a 3.85 GPA.
The Monte Cross Country Teams competed at the WCS Meet at Morris and had a great performance. The Monte Boys finished 1st
as a team, and the Monte Girls were 2nd as a team. The Monte Boys had 6 All-Conference runners, Joe Varpness was 3rd, Ryan
Maroney was 4th, Mitchell Moe was 6th, Zack Enevoldson was 7th, Adam Dezeeuw was 9th, Chase Testa was was 10th, and
Tristan Weber just missed All-Conference Honors in 12th. The Monte Girls had 3 earn All-Conference Honors, MaKena Hofer was
4th, Jamilah Carson was 5th, Anna Carruth was 11, and Trisha Jakobs just missed All-Conference Honors in 12th.
The Montevideo Girls Tennis Team held their end of the season awards banquet, and winning awards were Paige Jorgenson the
pit bull award, Catherine Haugen ace award, control freak award, conference performer of the week during the season, and next
years captain, Sierra Frazier 110 percent award, all conference honorable mention, conference performer of the week, and next
years captain, Natasha Smith won the next level award, Kailey Maroney won the hawk spirit award, Chelsie McCormick won the
coaches award, and all conference, and Rose Reinert all conference.
The Montevideo Girls Tennis Team ended their season with Catherine Haugen and Sierra Frazier competing in doubles in the
Section 3A Individual Tournament. Catherine and Sierra opened play in the semi-finals with a loss to the St James doubles team,
but then beat the Luverne doubles team to finish 3rd in the section.
The Monte Tennis Team had a great performance at the WCS Conference Meet. At 1st singles Catherine Haugen finished
2nd. At 2nd singles Sierra Frazier was 5th. At 3rd singles Kailey Maroney was 5th. At 4th singles Natasha Smith finished 3rd.
At 1st doubles Chelsea McCormick and Rose Reinert were 4th. At 2nd doubles Lindsey Moe and Jessa Kack finished 2nd. At 3rd
doubles Paige Jorgenson and Tina Lipinski were Montevideo's only Conference Champion in 1st place.
The Montevideo Volleyball Team held their end of the season awards banquet and winning awards were Dani Emkes for
conference performer of the week, and all conference honorable mention, Ashley Hoehne was named all conference, best serve
% went to Nettie Duval and Olivia Bisel, Best passer and best defense went to Kayla Aanerud, Most Spirit was given to Kelsey
Amborn and Ashley Hoehne, Mrs. hustle went to Olivia Bisel, Most Improved went to Rhea Melby, best offensive player went to Dani
Emkes and Ashley Hoehne, and the Montevideo volleyball MVP goes to Dani Emkes.
The Montevideo Volleyball Team ended their season with a 3 to 0 loss to GFW in the opening round of the Section 3AA
Tournament. Scores were 25-22, 25-14, 25-22. Kayla Aanerud led the Thunder Hawks with 29 digs, Kelsey Amborn had 16
assists, Ashley Hoehne had 9 kills, Alyssa Doty had 8 kills, Dani Emkes added 7 kills.
